How Do I For Teachers / How Do I Enter Students Into a...
Last post by TimDaniel - March 01, 2014, 09:52:34 PM
Step 1 - For the class you want to enter, select Students->Edit Students

Step 2 - Enter the student information or paste a list of students into the box provided.  The syntax is:

firstname lastname studentnumber

For example:

Susan Field 324354

Multiple and hyphenated first and last names are permitted.

Examples:

In a previous version of this message, a restriction on entering names with apostrophes (eg. O'Malley) was noted.  That restriction has been removed.

For international students with a chosen name, enter the names as follows:

Joyce -Mingyuan Wang 436587

This will be stored in the database as:

Firstname: Joyce (Mingyuan)
Lastname: Wang
Student Number: 436587

FAQ / What Do I Do When I Can't See ...
Last post by TimDaniel - March 01, 2014, 09:38:59 PM
Normally you can enter just one class access code and you should see all the classes.  However, occasionally when a student is entered into a class there is a typo, and a separate student record is created.

The easiest thing to do is to ask the teacher for the access code for that class.  If you enter that access code into your account you will be able to see the class.

If this is a persistent problem (this happens to people with multiple or hyphenated first or last names sometimes) then find out who at your school has an administrator account.  Usually it is the principals and counsellors.  Ask them to combine your student records.  They will know how to do this.

FAQ / How Can I Recover a Lost Passw...
Last post by TimDaniel - March 01, 2014, 09:06:17 PM
If you can't remember your password or your userid, just click on the Password Help button on the login page.

You then get two options - enter your userid, or enter your email address.

If you enter your userid, a new password will be sent to your email.  This changes your old password, so even if you suddenly remember what it is, you'll have to use the new one from the email.  You can change the password once you have logged in.

If you enter your email address, a reminder of your userid will be emailed to you.  Then you can get a new password if you need one using the method above.

If all this fails, just make a new account.  You'll have to get new secret codes to enter from a teacher.  Remember that one code from any class gets you access to all your classes.
